when I was younger, I'd never thought I'd be doing this. I was sold on the idea that the larger the sensor, the better. In terms of image quality, I still prefer larger sensors for reasons. 9.5 years ago I got my first medium format digital camera, an absolute tank of a device, and I thought that camera would be my end game camera.

turns out different formats have their place. it's not fun lugging that around for miles and miles, and it was so slow and awkward to hold that it slowed down a lot of my shooting and pulled me out of the "zone". I'm becoming enchanted by mobile phone shooting; it's faster, it's cleaner, it's easier, it doesn't take itself so seriously, and sometimes it's just best to have the least amount of gear between you and the moment.
